Which really came first, the chicken or the egg?

This is one of those questions that I usually change my answer every time I'm asked and my answer used to be egg but right now, I'll answer chicken because when this world was created after 1 week, animals were around and on their..err..adult form and not on their shells or when they were a baby as shown by the picture I grew up with while my mom is telling me the story on how the world was created and I'm laughing my ass off right now, what the heck am I talking about? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. XD but all I know, they can be both be eaten, whether in its egg or chicken form. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. XD

I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows & smiles & everyone would eat & be happy. So ask me. :)
